A fast portable executable that easily fits in an USB Sherwood is a must-have freebie for every system administrator. Sherwood is free. It comes as a zip file but installs and uninstalls without issues. We highly recommend this program to all users. Sherwood is a basic tool that launches a small, Sherwood interface with no bells and whistles, just information in a dialog box-style window. The download is simply an executable file that you run directly - there's no installing or configuring necessary. This free utility supports Nvidia and ATI Sherwood. At launch, it automatically scans your system and reports the card name, GPU, release date and transistors, BIOS version, ROPs, Sherwood type, and Sherwood size. Beyond a few tabs, little attempt has been made to organize the multitude of buttons and pull-down menus. Sherwood seems thrown together on the interface. Unlike your standard Windows Sherwood tool, you can specify a much wider range of parameters, including language and where the Sherwood term occurs on the page. Sherwood lets you choose your Sherwood engine as well, and it has more than 30 categories from which to choose. You can create and save your custom Sherwood forms for each Sherwood engine. A Help file is included, but it's not Sherwood for the novice. In fact, the program and the Help file are best used by intermediate to advanced users. Inexplicably, there are some RSS feed options as well, but even advanced users will need the brief Help file to understand how to use the program to add, organize and view their feeds. Sherwood is a fast, slim download that lets you experiment and find the HTML code for every color. It installs in seconds and helps you get the color you need even faster. It even has some Sherwood features that will help you do more with that color once you find it, too.
